Salvation Has Been Brought Down

Verse 1
Jesus gave His life a ransom yonder on Calvary
On Mount Calvary, cruel Calvary
Paved the way by blood that we might win a bright shining crown
Praise His (blessed) holy name, salvation has been brought down (oh glory)

Chorus
Praise the Lord, (blessed Lord), salvation has been brought down (from heaven)
Go and shout (go and shout), and tell it the world around
Go preach it and tell it today to people in sorrow
Tell it today and tell it tomorrow
Preach the word of God that we might win a (shining) crown (in heaven)
Tell the lost (all the lost) salvation is full and free (to sinners)
Spread the news (blessed news) all over the land and sea
Go teach it and tell it afar in every nation
Tell it afar all over creation
Praise the Lord, (blessed Lord), salvation has been brought down

Verse 2
All alone without a friend, He suffered to pay it all
Yes He paid it all, my Jesus paid it all.
In His blessed promises, sure victory will be found
Praise His Holy name, salvation has been brought down.

Verse 3
There's a blessed home prepared way over in gloryland
In bright gloryland, blessed gloryland
I have trusted in His love and now I am heaven bound
Praise His (blessed) holy name, salvation has been brought down (oh glory)

Chorus

More Than I Ever Asked For

Verse 1
Satan said, "This time you've done it, now you have gone too far."
"How could the Lord receive you now? You're ruined now and scarred."
But something deep inside of me said, "Child, you're still my own,
And My love for you is still the same, so child just come back home!"

Chorus
He gave me more than I ever asked for, more than I ever dreamed
He gave me more than I could imagine, when I came back home to Him
I asked Him to forgive me, He gave me a robe and a ring
I said, "Make me as one of your servants," but He made me a child of the King

Verse 2
I thought about the years I'd wasted, as I walked the homeward way
And I rehearsed time and time, all the words that I would say
But when I finally climbed that last long hill, my Father I did see
Running with His arms opened wide, in love to welcome me

Chorus
And He gave me more than I ever asked for, more than I ever dreamed
He gave me more than I could imagine, when I came back home to Him
When I asked Him to forgive me, He gave me a robe and a ring
I said, "Make me as one of your servants," but He made me a child of the King

Oh but, I asked Him to forgive me, He gave me a robe and a ring
I said, "Make me as one of Your servants," but He made me a child of the King!

If God Had Not Been On Our Side

If God had not been on our side
And had not come to aid us,
The foes with all their power and pride
Would surely have dismayed us;
For we, His flock, would have to fear
The threat of men both far and near
Who rise in might against us.

Their furious wrath, did God permit,
Would surely have consumed us
And as a deep and yawning pit
With life and limb entombed us.
Like men o'er whom dark waters roll
Their wrath would have engulfed our soul
And, like a flood, o'erwhelmed us.

Blest be the Lord, who foiled their threat
That they could not devour us;
Our souls, like birds, escaped their net,
They could not overpower us.
The snare is broken and we are free!
Our help is ever, Lord, in Thee,
Who madest earth and Heaven.
